Year-Round OpportunitiesThe Student Research Program provides year-long research internships at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base for undergraduate and graduate science and engineering (STEM) students at either the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) or the Materials and Manufacturing Directorate at the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL).
The Regional programming offers students in all disciplines the opportunity to connect with internship positions in various corporate, non-profit, governmental, and small business settings.

Application processFinding an internship with SOCHE is easy. You can submit one application and be considered for multiple internship programs. Just click apply here to get started. During the application process, you’ll have an opportunity to select the program(s) that are right for you. A resume and unofficial transcript are required to submit an application.
Once your application is processed, (allow 1-2 days), you can review available positions through the SOCHEIntern Program or automatically be considered for internship opportunities as they become available through the Student Research Program and AFIT Summer Internship Program. Master's and Post-Doctoral Student Research OpportunitiesThe Defense Associated Graduate Student Innovators (DAGSI) supports Ohio’s world-class graduate engineering research programs at the master's and doctoral levels. DAGSI helps students and faculty find financial assistance for their research projects and will pay part of students' tuition.
